The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them. Whereas a person with self-awareness is able to exercise a little meta-cognition and say, “Hmm… every time my sister calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas.
We’re not on autopilot. We’re in control of ourselves. And the best way to be in control of yourself is to stop letting others do it for you.
So, are you on autopilot? If you are, you can stop it. We have all the tools to create our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. We just have to stop letting others do it for us.
Another thing I notice here is that most of the people I know that aren’t on autopilot are constantly on autopilot. They are doing things because they’re doing them, and they’re not paying attention to themselves. The problem with not paying attention to yourself is that it becomes easier to let others do it for you.
We all have the best day of our lives, but when we forget to pay attention to the little things, it’s easy to let others do it for us. If we don’t take the time to notice we are doing the things we want to do, it becomes easier to let someone else do them for us.
This is a classic example of the kind of thinking we talked about earlier. Self-awareness is the ability to take a moment and pause and notice what you are doing. It’s the ability to look at the things that matter and say, “Wow… that’s so important that I have to pay attention.
This is something I really think all of us can learn to get better at. It’s hard to make a habit out of doing something, but the more you practice this, the easier it becomes. I know I’m still not perfect at this, but I try my best.
I think we can all agree that this is a useful skill. Especially when it comes to how people react to a situation. A lot of times, actions we take based on our perception are the ones that make the most difference, often in the end. I think I’m the only person who has actually noticed my own actions and made a change. I think we can all learn from that and take it to heart.
The element scopes are a tool we can all use to improve our perception. There are a few different ways to do this, but I think the simplest way is to focus your attention on a specific element. For instance, imagine you’re playing a game where you can choose your party’s favorite player. Now imagine you’re playing the game and you’re the only one who doesn’t know your choice is to be the next one on the team.
