As a java developer, I have to be very careful about the amount of time I spend in the debugger. This can be a chore, or one that can be a blessing. For example, I can use the debugger to debug a problem with Java, but if I’m trying to debug and make sure that a piece of code is working, I don’t have time to spend in the debugger. This is where the debugger comes in handy.

In the real world, if you can’t debug your system, it’s not worth spending time on it. If you can, then you’re better off digging into the bug.

In the debugger you can also run your own tests, see what is going on your system, and even take advantage of any other debugging tools that you have on your system.
